DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

The Commerce Department of the college was established2004. The Department started functioning with the one-degree course- B.Com Computer Application. The Department was enlarged by introducing Post Graduate course that commenced in the year 2010. In 2015 the department added one more course B.Com Finance & Taxation as a vocational Degree course. The department has adequate well qualified, competent faculty who are dedicated to the academic and overall personality of the student community both in terms of the college’s vision and today’s competitive environment. With the objective of further enriching the academic offerings of the Department and catering to the needs of the student community, a new course, B.Com Co-operation, will be introduced in the year 2022

The Department of Commerce also provides a wide platform for extracurricular activities as well as activities for students’ personality development, professional expertise, and leadership skills.

The objective of the B.Com Computer Application program is to mold students in the field of Accounting with Information Technology. It will provide conceptual knowledge and skills of its application domain of commerce and IT and enhances the decision-making skills of students.

The B.Com Finance & Taxation course aims at delivering holistic knowledge of taxation systems and financial principles to graduate-level students in a gradual and effective manner.

The B.Com Co-Operation program aims to prepare students to become competent professionals who can contribute to the development and growth of the co-operative sector. It also aims to provide students with practical exposure to the co-operative sector through internships, industry visits, and other experiential learning opportunities.

The M.Com Course is designed to deliver the best possible educational experience for students with a wide range of commerce and management skills coupled with a thrust on the practical domain. On completion of the course, students are really prepared to take up a career. To provide the foundation for further advanced studies and research in the area of commerce.
